Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act ...Seriously?

The Senate has unanimously passed a bill - the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (CALM) that requires TV stations and cable companies to ensure that commercials are broadcast at the same volume as television programs.

The bill, its sponsors say, would fix a problem that “vexes many television viewers - when commercials are many times louder than the regular program they are viewing.”

Ok folks is it me? Or is this the epitome of stupidity as well as a colossal
waste of time & money?

I mean seriously, An act to lower the volume on commercials? Come on, are you kidding me?

I mean I would be all for lowering the volume on commercials if we didn't have things such as ..Oh I don't know..Let's see...
A War
Unemployment
Homelessness
A failing education system
Prisons Overcrowded
Young people killing themselves over unbearable bullying
Child & Animal Abuse running rampant
Cuts in healthcare (which almost cost me my job & several friends did lose thier job)

Are you getting my drift here? Those are just a few of the things that are more important than the volume on a commercial on TV..For God's sake people use the MUTE button!
I am horrified that our goverment is using Money & Time for such outragoues things, when I can walk out my door & walk a few blocks and see transient Vets on the street corner panhandling..No Home..No Help, after defending our country!
So yes I am saying WTH!!
Let me know how you feel...
God Bless you all..

  2. I too hate the loudness of t.v. commercials but, for the government to waste time and money on this is-BULLSHIT. Then again, would you expect anything less from a government that squanders tax payers money on frivolous crap that isn't needed. USE THE MUTE BUTTON people. One of the best inventions out there.
